The geography of the Puget sound lowlands is mountainous and quikly elevating . Even though most of the land is also at sea level because because of how close we are to the water. In the Puget sound lowlands a lot of our attractions are right on the water. In fact one of the biggest cities in Washington; Seattle is right on the water. Also, the Puget sound lowlands are full of many different islands called the San Juan Islands. Some of the islands include Orcas Island, Lopez Island, and Shaw Island. The climate of the Puget sound lowlands has two versions; dry seasons and wet seasons. In the winter there is tons of rain, verses in the summer it’ll rain once or twice in the entire season! So you can see there is a big seasonal shift in the different seasons. Also, the wet season will usually peak mid-winter and end mid-spring. There are also some large scale wind patterns that begin in October and end in spring. Some of the geographical landmarks include as the San Juan islands, the Puget sound, the state's capital Olympia, Seattle, Bellingham, Vancouver. A lot of great businesses originated here; for example Starbucks, Microsoft, and some businesses headquarters like Amazon, Starbucks, and Microsoft. One of the biggest sites in Washington is called the Seattle space needle. Which is a very large landmark. The Puget sound lowlands isn't known for its snowy winters, but every once and awhile we have a big snow storm. This will happen because we will get winter wind from Canada. But the Puget sound lowlands gets a lot of cold wind and rain. It's not just any old wind the wind can speed up to over 40 mph. But when it does snow I recommend going outside and enjoying it, because it will not last very long. In fact the wettest year on record was in 1932 and the Puget sound lowlands got 185 inches of rain. There are also some great hikes that are in the Puget sound lowlands. There are some great climbs on Mt. Erie, which is located in Anacortes. This hike is a good 4 miles to the peak. There is also some great lakes in the the Puget sound lowlands. One lake is Lake Whatcom. There is also lake Washington. On Lake Whatcom you can tube, water ski, and much more! On lake Washington you can swim, take a boat out, and even go on a duck boat tour. After a duck boat tour you can go get some ice cream down on the waterfront. While you're down there you can go visit the nearby aquarium. Major AttractionsPikes Place Market
Pike Place Market in Seattle Is one of the oldest Farmers market in the country. This is a very large farmers market at 9 acres of Shopping. The market travels from Virginia St. to 1st Ave through Pike St. . Pike Place sells everything from jewelry, to paintings, to vegetables, to fish. The wide variety of items of items in the market attracts a lot of people. Specifically; tourists. Tourists come from all over the world and find this market a great place to visit. The major attractions and places to visit around and near the Puget sound lowlands are the San Juan islands. Some attractions on the islands is the whale museum, San Juan historical society museum, San Juan island museum of art, San Juan community theater, and whale and wildlife. Tours are some major attractions of the Puget sound lowlands an on the San Juan islands. Now you can see how much fun you can have on the San Juan islands. Another thing you can do when you go to Lopez island is going to a historical museum. You can also go to a library if you want a little quiet. You can go to some galleries and walk around as well. the Puget sound lowlands is the best because it has lot like the space needle and the space needle has bin upgraded now it is mostly glass so when you walk out and you can see what is blow you. and it is in Seattle which has some of the biggest building in Washington. that is way the Puget sound lowlands is the best region of Washington.
