Cascade Mountain Activities
There are many beautiful regions in Washington, but The Cascade Mountain Region is by far my favorite. There are so many activities to do here on these beautiful mountains. Most sports here are snow-sports, but there are lots of fun activities to do in the spring or summer. I will start off with some winter activities. In the winter they are very known for snow-sports. There is snowboarding, skiing, cross-country skiing trails, and snowshoeing. There are also plenty of ski lodges to stay at. Hiking is another popular activity here and you can pretty much hike any time of the year. Some spring/summer activities are camping, hiking, backpacking, and mountain climbing.
If you love to travel and you love the outdoors this is the place for you. Here are some of the popular places to go and popular things to do. You can explore the Methow Valley which is off the east slope of the cascades. You can mountain bike in the spring/summer off the back country roads and cross-country ski in the winter. Next we have Ross Lake. This is the most famous spot in the north cascades and one of the best views in Washington, every corner you turn at every angle there is a beautiful view. This can be reached by canoe or by hiking the East Bank Trail from highway 20. Last, you can hike to Hidden Lakes Peak, which is a beautiful trail with amazing views that leads you to a beautiful hidden lake surrounded by the north cascades. Now, here are the best sights to see here. The best lake to see is Blue Lake. It is about four and a half miles south of Mount Baker, and is less than a mile to hike to. The best peak is Mt.Rainier rising to 14,410 feet a mile. The best drive is to the Cascade Loop. Most of the activities here our for outdoorsy people. If you want to stay here there are many ski lodges, resorts, cabins,or you can even camp in a tent here! Every morning when you wake up you will wake up to a beautiful view at every angle. You can also take a drive to the North Cascades national Park and see all the glaciers, mountain views, lakes, and animals. Some animals there are mountain goats, black tailed-deer, American black bear, elk, cougars, and many bird species. I know i've talked about the best sights to see, but now i'm going to tell you the top place to stay at. Colonial Creek: A campground with many hiking trails to go on. Wake up early to see the stunning views of mists over the lake or you can hike Thunder Knob Trail and see the snowy views of Pyramid Peak. Last i'm going to talk about places to eat. The View Restaurant at the Mirror Lake inn: It has a Stunning view and great service and it is 9.6 miles from the cascade mountains. The beautiful region of Washington
This is the beautiful state of Washington. There are 5 regions of Washington and we have the Cascade Mountains one of the most beautiful regions. This is my favorite one because there is so many attractions to go see, such as mt baker, Mt. Saint Helens, and Mt. Rainier. Some animals you may see in the cascade mountains are columbia blacktail deer, douglas squirrel, gray wolf, bald eagles which is good for bird watching there is many other animals.for people to see when they are visiting or moving to the cascade mountain region.I hope you guys now want to come and visit our wonderful region because there is many more things to do in the cascade mountain region.
You may wonder why people want to visit or live here well ,there is many reason but I will save you some time and only tell you a couple of the reasons why people live or visit this region. One is there is a lot of winter sports to do such as snowboarding and sking.you may also want to go hiking on different trails in the mountains. A couple good hiking trails to go one are green mountain or glacier peak wilderness. I love also hunting in the mountains so if you a hunter i would try a couple places in the cascade mountain region.there is also summer things you can do such as hike and go camping. You can also go look at the wonderful wild flowers and waterfalls from snow melt.those are just a few things you can do in the winter and summer in the cascade mountains. Now you are probably wondering how the weather is .well usually it is cold the highest it usually gets is around 65-75 degrees in the summer in the winter it is usually around 25 to 35 degrees.which yes it gets cold but then you can play in the snow. The history of our region is quite interesting. Mt. St. Helens was named by commander George Vancouver whose title was Baron St. Helens.Over the last 500 years Mt. St. Helens has only had 4 major explosions.was first recognized in 1835 as a volcano. Now i would like to tell you a little bit of facts about Mt. Rainier. In 1870 Hazard Stevens and P.B. van trump completed the first known access to Mt. Rainier. In 1899 united states designed the first national park for Mt. Rainier. The natives called Mt. Rainier Tahoma which means the mountain that was god. Yes there was very much of the history but I gave just a couple of really good facts. I hope you now feel better about our region and would like to come visit this beautiful place. or even live here because then you could do all the activities in the mountains of the cascade mountain region.you may think it's not that fun because it will be cold in the winter but believe me it is fun. |
